My refuge ....

The earthquake that hit Christchurch on the 22nd February, left our area in a very damaged state. Although our house was still standing, there was no power or water and liquefaction everywhere. Our sewerage system will not be operating for at least another six months - 2 years. The destruction to our city and grief to it's people, was evident everywhere. So I took my girls and we had a break in the lovely town of Motueka. There we found refuge in the people, the beaches in the surrounding areas and the glorious weather helped us to feel some sense of normality. Here are some photos I took whilst there .....

Black n White Waterplay ......

The joys of childhood ...... trying to catch water in your mouth when running through the sprinkler! And the disappointment when playtime is over!

Guard dogs at the beach .....
Every beautiful woman needs them!!!!

Then endless joys of running into the surf on a hot day!

 Fascination of Water ....

Capturing these special moments with my children and friends was so rewarding!

Childhood Memories
